How I Grew My Kinky 4C Hair To My Waist -It's Not Hard (ONCE YOU KNOW!)
Once you have the natural hair knowledge, you can grow your hair like you want to. Listen...

One of the points I loved about this tutorial was the advice to GET SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO TRIM! Look...Don't let some dummy or even a low-key hater cut 3-DANG-INCHES off your head as if she's is doing you a favor and grinning in your face.
Girrrrrl....
I would backslap the skin off the back off my hand with her face if I got 3 inches cut off when all I wanted.... I SAY....
All I wanted... WAS... A.... DOGGONE TRIM! Aww hecky naw sis.... Hecks-to-the-naw. I aint the one.
OK, all y'all who know me know I'm lying, I aint slappin' nobody, lol. But I sure as all-get-out WILL BE CHECKING WHAT'S GOING ON DURING A TRIM AND WILL GET OUT OF THAT CHAIR in a hot second if I feel they my stylist aint hearing me and doing what I need done.
You aint cutting off my hard work, PERIODT. And sooooo many sistas just accept ANYTHING from ANYBODY, then feel dumb when all their new growth is laying on the floor while folks is smiling in your face waiting to get pat. Hecks-to-the-naw...
So look:
Y'all gotta be careful out here ladies. Some folks will cut off all your luscious if you don't check them from the gate. SPEAK-THE-FREAK UP.
It's YOUR hair...
Now let's talk about this Gina curl, because I was in the dark about this (as cute as it is).
Don't Get Confused 4Cs - Sis Got a "Gina Curl"
So this caught me off guard, I aint neva heard of a Gina curl in my life.
Some stuff just slips by you, or maybe you hear it and don't pay it any attention.
Either way, I've been blogging about Black hair and natural hair since 2012 and I don't know WHAT sis is talking about. All I know is that WHATEVER SHE GOT is super-cute.
I don't know if she got a Gina-curl, a Martin-curl or a Tommy-aint-got-no-job-curl...
It looks good, and she did it AFTER she grew her hair out to her desired length, where she wanted it. That's key.
"I Aint Scurred" Hair Trimming Advice For Length Retention
One point that sis made that is true and really hit home is that as long as you have a healthy scalp you're getting 3 inches of hair growth every 6 months, so as long as you are cutting off 3 inches and you're practicing healthy hair practices, you should be seeing some length retention because PROPER trimming is important for stopping hair breakage.
The Cliffnotes Of The Video
- Don’t flat iron your hair before you've reached your desired length
- Focus on your ends
- Trim your ends
- Oil your hair, not your roots
- Manipulate your hair less
- Be gentle when detangling
If you're trying to grow 4C hair I think you'll be able to get some good tips from the tutorial I posted, I hope you enjoy and stay Black, stay beautiful.
