This 4C Sis Went Through a 7-Day Wash-n-Go Gauntlet!
Could you? WOULD YOU? Look, my fellow blogger and current collab-in-crime partner. (Literally just talked to her earlier today) tried a wash-n-go for 7 straight days on type 4b, 4c hair and some pretty surprising things happened.
So, Latoya has always considered her hair to be pretty hopeless when it comes to wash-n-goes. Type 4b 4c hair really doesn’t have curls that can be defined. It tends to be kinky, coily, have a ton of shrinkage, and tangles very easily.
Sometimes a Sista Gotta Experiment, Ya Know?
Wash-n-gos seem like many type 4 naturals worst nightmares - and for nearly 10 years it was mine too. All the Kinky Curly Curling Custard in the world didn't save me. That’s why I’ve done this experiment for you.
To face my fear of the wash-n-go. Some fears were confirmed, but some fears were completely debunked. Grab some popcornopolis and hang out for this Vlog style 7-day rollercoaster.
I Tried a WASH N GO on 4C HAIR Everyday For A WEEK *I'M SHOcKed!*
Her Disclaimer For The Overly Serious & Over-Righteous About 4C Hair:
So, because she got so many dang reprimands from her jokes and silliness about her hair(sound like somebody you know???), Latoya had to set some folks straight, here's what she said:
I did this experiment for fun. It’s light and meant to make you smile. I’m going to add this disclaimer “in case” someone watching this gets the wrong idea.
I LOVE my hair.
I don't see the following things as "negatives"...
I don’t see shrinkage, the hair pattern, the fact that it gets dry, or the maintenance I choose to do to it as “cons” to having natural hair.
It’s just what it happens to do and I love it for that. I’ve learned what my hair likes to do and what it doesn’t like. I have a hair care routine that works for me, so this was very different.
I don’t do wash-n-gos normally because I don’t really care about coil definition.
4c hair isn’t hard to take care of for me, but it does create comedic moments when I try to do something new.
P.S. I know the majority of you will get the humor. If you want to know my true thoughts about my hair watch a few of my videos. In particular, “Stop saying 4c hair is hard to manage”. Love ya’ll! Be safe out there, okay.
